How do we create a batik artwork?
Batik is more than just beautiful fabric — it is a cultural symbol woven into the identity of Southeast Asia. From intricate patterns to meaningful motifs, each batik design tells a story of heritage, tradition, and artistry passed down through generations. But how can we make this ancient craft our own?
In this creative challenge, learners dive into the world of batik and explore its roots across the history and fashion of Asian cities. The twist? They’ll experiment with unconventional tools and techniques — no hot wax or dyes required. By reimagining batik through modern materials and personal flair, children learn to honour tradition while expressing their unique voice. Discover how culture, creativity, and Southeast Asian pride come together — one pattern at a time.

Fees for our half-day camp include:
– All Growth Mindset Activities from 9:00am to 1:00pm
– Ratio of 1 facilitator to 5 children
– 1 tea break
– Experiment materials and equipment
– Materials for Batik Artwork project
Please note that the available slots for participants are limited and places will be taken up fast. We encourage you to enrol ASAP if you wish to secure your child’s place in the programme.
