Event Details
For term 3, we draw inspiration from Chinese malariologist and pharmaceutical chemist, Tu Youyou—China’s first female Nobel Prize winner in Medicine. Her groundbreaking discovery of artemisinin, a life-saving treatment for malaria, was the result of years of perseverance, deep research, and a willingness to blend traditional knowledge with modern science.
Her journey reminds us that innovation often begins when we ask brave, better questions and persist despite obstacles. Together, we will think boldly, explore fearlessly, and embrace a growth mindset — just like Tu Youyou.
Our learners will explore where biology, chemistry, and real-world problem-solving come together. Through hands-on experiments and critical thinking tasks, learners will uncover the science behind medicine, explore how chemistry impacts our health, and discover how traditional wisdom can lead to modern breakthroughs.
